Internet Casino Sucker Wagers — Part Two

[ English ]
  • Progressive side bets: Casino games like Caribbean Stud Poker often offer one of these. You normally place a bet (a dollar is the normal value) to attempt to win a side jackpot that can be upwards of twenty-five thousand dollars. Although huge jackpots like this are extremely appealing, they’re also very hard to win. You would have to hit a Royal Flush in order to succeed on this bet. Also, imagine this- you wager 20 hands and place the side bet each time. That’s twenty dollars you should have used towards the real game bet instead of a sucker bet. Picture what you could have been able to win at a wager with better odds using that 20 dollars.
  • Single number bets in Roulette: This is completely true for American Roulette. Why? American Roulette has two zeroes on the wheel, unlike European Roulette, which has only 1. This shifts the overall house advantage from two% with a single zero wheel to a huge 5.26% in American. The one number bet has just a one in thirty eight chance of winning, which are very long odds indeed. Try even-odd or black-red wagers instead which have a much lower casino advantage.
  • Keno: Any version of Keno, and anyway you gamble on it, the casino advantage can be a whopping 25%. Yes, that wasn’t a typo. Due to the large set of numbers you must choose, it is not recommended to gamble on Keno very much. A number of times for fun, maybe. But do not waste all your money on it or you’ll immediately find yourself bankrupt.
